Orange County aims to equip another 10,000 small businesses with PPE

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County will be giving out another round of free personal protective equipment to small businesses.

The offer comes five days into the new mask mandate that requires most people to wear face coverings in public and is the second PPE giveaway the county has offered for small businesses.

Inside the kits, business owners can find disposable masks, some reusable cloth masks and hand sanitizer to keep their employees safe during the pandemic.

The county’s goal is to provide packets of 200 disposable face masks, 15 cloth masks and 20 hand sanitizers to businesses that employ 40 people or less whether full or part-time.

In total, the county said it has 2 million masks and 500,000 bottles of hand sanitizer.

During the first round of giveaways, the county aimed to help 20,000 local business. It now wants to help anther 10,000 over a three-day period.

Orange County officials will offer the PPE to both for-profit and non-profit businesses but a majority of its operations must happen in the county.

Back then the county had a goal to help 20 thousand businesses.

Business owners can register here if they’d like to pick up some PPE.

The PPE giveaways will be held at Downey Park, West Orange Park in Winter Garden and at the South Orange Youth Sports Complex.
